Arnold has always been able to stay insanely busy through the years no matter if it is about his bodybuilding activities, political aspirations, charity organizations or film career.
In fact, it won’t be unfair if we say that the ex-governor of California is arguably one of the busiest and most successful celebrities in the world.
Probably many of you are familiar with his famous six rules of success, described in detail in his amazing autobiography ‘Total Recall – My Unbelievably True Life Story’.
Rule number five states ‘work your butt off’.
When it comes to the upcoming movies of Arnold Schwarzenegger, be sure that this rule will once again be solidified.
Ahnuld, like they like to call him because of his ridiculous accent, has some very ambitious upcoming projects announced.
Some of them are already in development and one thing is clear – Arnold’s filming schedule is so busy that he will have to indeed work his butt off.
That is not a surprise for an ambitious figure like him but hey, that’s even better for us, the always hungry for more Ahnuld fans, isn’t it?
The dramatic thriller based on true events ‘Aftermath’ (2017) marked the 50th film in Arnold’s long and impressive career.
What more to expect from the never aging former bodybuilder who always likes to stay hungry?

‘Triplets’ (release date unknown)
Back in 1988 when Arnold did ‘Twins’ along with Danny De Vito, no one presumed that this daring attempt for a comedy would become so successful.
We all know that Hollywood has always been obsessed about sequels, prequels, spin-offs, and other variations of once hit movies.
That is why, almost 30 years later the question about a sequel to Ivan Reitman’s comedy hit from the late 80’s has been brought to the table.
That project was first announced several years ago but as per Danny De Vito, the process is slow because it is not so easy to find a good script.
Plus, the last thing that the ones involved in the creation of the movie want is to deliver a lousy film, thus disappointing the fans that keep a good memory about ‘Twins’.
In ‘Triplets’ we expect to see the dusty star of Eddie Murphy as the Julius and Vincent Benedict’s third sibling.
As far as I am concerned, I think that if they find a good script and if they play their cards well, the movie can become really cool.
Arnold has a proven record as a comedy actor even in all of his funny action movies and both Eddie Murphy and Danny De Vito know their stuff pretty well.
So I give this project a green line!
‘The Legend of Conan’ (release date unknown)
‘To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!’
You remember this classic quote, do you?
Conan is probably the one character that fits Arnold perfectly. Conan is made for Arnold and Arnold is made for playing Conan.
It all started in 1982 when the successful bodybuilder with the barely pronounceable name Schwarzenegger (often confused with Schwarcenchnitzel) made his cinema breakthrough in John Milius’s adventure-fantasy blockbuster ‘Conan the Barbarian’.
Back then Arnold looked exactly as a barbarian with his limited acting skills, emotionless face, ridiculous accent and extraordinary physique.
That is why this role remains to these days one of Arnold’s most memorable performances.
Although the sequel entitled ‘The Legend of Conan’ is officially in the list of Arnold’s future projects on IMDB, the latest news on the development of the film are not positive.
It appears that due to various obstacles the studio decided to abandon the spin-off which was going to present Conan 30 years after the events of ‘Conan the Barbarian’.
I don’t know for you, but for me, those are bad news.
It would be so awesome seeing the aging Conan in a Clint Eastwood-ish type of movie with Arnold reprising his iconic role.
The idea of an old Conan, played by the only man in the world who can do it right (by right I mean funny) was and still is fantastic.
We cross our fingers for the existence of any future development of this ambitious and so wanted project.
‘Viy 2’ (expected to air in 2017)
Through the years Arnold has collaborated with many great actors.
He had shared the screen with Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, George Clooney, Sharon Stone, Jamie Lee Curtis and many others stars.
Now the time has come to star along Jackie Chan and Charles Dance (‘Game of Thrones’).
‘Viy 2’ is the sequel to the Russian fantasy production released in 2014 which follows the adventures of the English cartographer Jonathan Green.
This time the traveler is tasked by Peter the Great to explore the Russian Far East.
There he discovers a whole new world full of dark secrets, creepy creatures and he must deal with black magic.
The movie is based on a horror novel by Nikolai Gogol and was a huge box-office hit in 2014.
There isn’t much clarity about Arnold’s role in the big-budgeted film.
What is known is that he will portray James Hook, while the leading role will again go to Jason Flemyng.
Based on the released photos, and given the dark, haunting atmosphere of the previous part, the movie will be definitely worth watching.
It would be cool to see Arnold and experiencing his glorious accent again in a fantasy flick, especially filled with so many famous names.
Plus, we all love the cool dude Jackie Chan and his presence in the movie means that we shall expect some quality martial arts action.
‘Blanco’ (release date unknown)
‘Blanco’ will star Arnold Schwarzenegger (thank you, spellchecker) playing a Navy officer, who is forced to pilot a submarine, stuffed with cocaine.
It seems that this narco action-thriller will have Arnold back in his comfort zone, in the role of a tough action hero.
The rest of the cast and the director are unknown at the time of this writing but it sounds like a promising project.
Hopefully, ‘Blanco’ will make a great funny action movie. Go, Arnold, go!
‘Killing Gunther’ (expected to air in 2017)
That will be a funny action movie for sure.
The action-comedy flick will have Arnold as its leading star playing Gunther – a renowned hit-man who becomes the target of a bunch of unconventional assassins who are tired of seeing Gunther alive.
On the road of accomplishing their task and killing him, they come to realize that the old, experienced killer is not at all an easy target.
The movie will mark the directorial debut of the Saturday Night Live star Taran Killam.
Well, the plot sounds good, but I have doubts when it comes to the director.
In most of the cases, the directorial debuts are rubbish.
Also, the rest of the cast is pretty unknown so it appears that the movie will rely entirely on Arnold to achieve any kind of success in the theaters.
The first look is pretty great, though.
No matter what, the movie will be for sure worth checking out, at least because of the always fast-talking former bodybuilder, also known as the Austrian Oak.
So that’s all folks.
That was it – the upcoming movies of Arnold Schwarzenegger in a nutshell.
While waiting for the future Arnold films, why not remembering ‘Total Recall‘ or the ultra funny ‘Hercules in New York‘.
What do you think – which role will fit Arnold the most? Is he becoming a better actor as his age increases?
