Anthony Minghella’s movie, The Talented Mr. Ripley, is a thriller movie that is perfect for summer nights.
Tom Ripley, who is played by Matt Damon, finds himself being tortured by Jude Law’s character. He doesn’t know how he feels about the other character, and ultimately he decides to try to be him.
Set in summer on the Italian coast, this movie will be perfect for a summer night.
4. Grease
Released in 1978, this movie is a classic. Even if you’ve watched already, it’s definitely time for a rewatch.
This movie was based on a Broadway show that came out in 1971.
It follows a story in a fictional high school that takes place in 1958. Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta are both in these movies, and they end up having a summer fling. However, things get a lot more complicated when they find themselves going to the same school once summer break ends.
5. The Parent Trap
This movie is so good that they actually made it twice.
The first one featured Hayley Mills, and the rebooted one had Lindsay Lohan in it. Both are pretty good, and it’s hard to pick a favorite.
In both movies, the plot follows a set of identical twins who were separated at birth when their parents got divorced. When the two twins meet at a summer camp, they decide that they have to try and figure out how to get their parents back together.

This movie is another old classic, and it was released in 1968.
This movie will take your breath away as you watch young Tom Cruise in his pilot outfit.
Cruise’s character doesn’t care about the rules, and he ends up seducing Kelly McGillis’s character, Charlie.

7. Anchorman
Anchorman is one movie that will never go out of style. Will Ferrell is a comedy genius, and in this movie, he plays the anchorman for the San Diego Channel 4 News Team.
Adam McKay is also in this movie, and they make a great pair together.
Christina Applegate is another reporter in this movie who battles Will Ferrell’s character and creates a battle of the sexes.

8. Adventureland
This comedy was set in the 1980s in a crappy theme park. This theme park plays the same songs over and over on its tiny theme park, and Jesse Eisenberg’s character is stuck in the park for an entire summer.
He has to earn money for college while his friends travel all around Europe. He had applied to almost every other job that was open, but no one else would hire him except the amusement park.
While he works there, he meets Kristen Stewart’s character, and they both fall in love. The fireworks explode across the sky as it happens!
9. Jaws
Steven Spielberg’s classic movie is one that has been watched for generations.
This movie is a cross between Moby Dick and An Enemy of the People. This movie takes place on a beach resort on the 4th of July.
However, there is a great white shark that is lurking in the waters, terrorizing beachgoers.
Roy Scheider is cast as the police chief who won’t close the beaches because of the holiday. However, this results in one bad event after the next.
This movie is perfect with its sunny summer and the bloody waters. After watching this, you won’t be able to get John William’s score out of your head next time you go to the beach.
