Boy, to finally have Boyka: Undisputed on Blu-Ray is sensational and definitely deserves an article.
We are all familiar with the huge underground success that the ‘Undisputed’ franchise has achieved.
This is arguably one of the most celebrated direct-to-video franchises in the world that proves that passion is much more important than money when it comes to creating an outstanding action movie with a limited budget.
The funny thing is that only the first installment of the quadrilogy, namely ‘Undisputed’ (2002) received a full theatrical release which happened to be a box-office flop, despite the budget of over $20 million.
The three sequels that followed received limited theatrical release and were mainly distributed on the direct-to-DVD market.
This seemed as an obstacle for the popularization of the franchise but the facts were and still are surprising – the three movies starring Scott Adkins turned out to be phenomenal and won the hearts of the action fans with their intense realism and spectacular martial arts choreography.
Now that the fourth installment has freshly received a Blu-Ray release, I am here to help you find out more about ‘Boyka: Undisputed’ offered on Amazon.

A Few Words About The Movie
The fourth installment of the martial arts saga follows the events of ‘Undisputed 3: Redemption’ (2010).
Yuri Boyka is a free man and lives the life of a professional fighter while trying to stay out of trouble.
When one day he accidentally kills an opponent in the ring everything changes.
The conscience-stricken Boyka travels to Russia in order to meet the devastated wife (Alma) of the man he killed, thus risking his own freedom.
When he sees that she is being treated like a slave by a powerful crime lord, Yuri Boyka makes a deal with him.
He agrees to participate in a series of illegal fights in the club owned by the notorious kingpin, the stake being Alma’s freedom.
There is only one condition – he needs to win those fights and that seems like a mission impossible.
Soon Boyka finds himself fighting not only for Alma but also for his own life in the most difficult challenge he has ever faced.
While “Boyka: Undisputed” (2016) manages to stay as intense and realistic as the previous movies, this sequel is also very different in its own way.
The movie presents a deep character development of the main hero, giving us insights into the human side of Yuri Boyka.
The furious protagonist who stops at nothing, known from the past two installments is now a caring man, regretting his bad deeds and who risks his own life in the name of the good.
A part of that, the movie still contains the gravity-defying martial arts sequences that became the trademark of the whole franchise.
They are brilliantly executed by Scott Adkins together with the whole highly skilled crew of actors and professional fighters, hired to accomplish the final result which is once again breathtaking.
Shot entirely in Bulgaria and produced by ‘Nu Image’ the film directed by the unexperienced Todor Chapkanov impresses with a cast of talented, yet not popular actors such as Teodora Duhovnikova in the role of Alma and Alon Aboutboul as the villain Zourab.

What I like About the Blu-Ray
There are several things that I like about this offer on Amazon and I am impatient to share them with you:
- There are special features included, finally.
If you’ve read my articles about the Sylvester Stallone DVD collection or about the ‘Showdown in Little Tokyo’ on Blu-Ray, maybe you’ve noticed my disappointment from the lack of special features.
This time there are such. The Blu-Ray includes a digital copy of “Boyka: Undisputed” which expires on May 2, 2018.
It is compatible with iTunes and Windows media. The second bonus feature is an exclusive behind the scenes video that shows moments from the making of the movie as well as short interviews with the crew. Cool, isn’t it?
- The price is more than fair as compared to other sources.
- The movie itself is more than satisfying.
- The average customer rating on Amazon is high which is pretty self-explanatory.
- Based on the reviews, the Blu-Ray is region free as it plays on region B Blu-Ray players.
- There is a gift wrap available that comes with the package which is a cool advantage.
- Surprisingly, I saw one of my friends as an extra in the movie (not a relevant information, I know but I had to mention it)
Let’s head to the cons of the product.
What I Don’t Like About It
There is nothing to mention here about the technical quality of the Blu-Ray. It is flawless. There are some things that I am not happy about the movie itself, though:
- The writing is bad.
I have to admit that the dialogue and the story are of a lower quality as compared to the previous films despite the touching character development of Yuri Boyka.
- Some of the acting is unconvincing.
I guess that only a fool would expect an Oscar-worthy acting in this action flick, but still, at some points, it is too much.
Who Would Love This Blu-Ray The Most
‘Boyka: Undisputed’ on Blu-Ray is destined for:
- All Scott Adkins fans.
- All martial arts admirers.
- Everyone who enjoys realistic fight sequences and intense storytelling
- All action fans who collect only highly entertaining movies.

Final Thoughts
‘Boyka: Undisputed’ on Blu-Ray has successfully passed all the tests in order to be qualified as a worthwhile purchase.
The movie itself is as good as the previous parts of the franchise, especially in terms of martial arts sequences and intensity.
The development of Boyka is engaging enough to please the audiences and to keep them on the edge of the seat while awing at the stunning fight choreography.
The Blu-Ray is flawless and includes two special bonuses – a digital copy of the flick as well as behind the scenes material.
All that, combined with the fact that the product is offered from the most trustworthy reseller on the planet, makes it a must-have for all the action fans out there.
