1. Salt
Are you into strong female leads in action movies? If so, check out Angelina Jolie in this flick as Agent Evelyn Salt, a CIA operative who tries to clear her name after she’s accused of being a Russian spy.
Agent Salt decides to go on the run, and we follow her journey of fighting for her good name. Needless to say, there’s no shortage of gunplay.
One of the firearms in this movie is actually from an airgun source. Toward the end of the film, Agent Salt’s boss points an airsoft gun at a door when Salt is on the other side. But you’ll need to look closely to tell the difference!
2. Shoot ‘Em Up
With a name like “Shoot ‘Em Up,” it’s no surprise that this movie has some sweet gunfights. In fact, it’s one of the best gun movies out there.
The film opens with a scene of Clive Owen killing a man with a carrot, which sets the viewer up for a pretty ridiculous and exciting viewing experience. As the plot continues, we see almost nonstop gunplay and stylized action sequences. If you want to see pistols, sniper rifles, and plenty of gunfire, check out this film.
3. No Country for Old Men
This Oscar-winning film has surprising shootout scenes that you’ll never see coming. In much of the film, Anton Chigurh, played by Javier Bardem, is shooting at characters in situations where they don’t have the opportunity to fight back. Sometimes, you’ll see a barrage of gunfire but no shooter.
The movie is suspenseful and beautifully shot. If you’re looking for tons of gunfire mixed with artistic integrity, check this one out.
4. MacGruber
If you’re tired of watching the same old action shooting movies but you still want to see some shots fired, check out this hilarious spoof film. It’s a play on the classic TV series “MacGyver,” and stars Will Forte as a blunderous former special operative who jumps back into action to take out his arch nemesis.
In a particularly ridiculous scene, Forte holds two semi-automatic weapons and goes to town without hitting a single target. Although it’s not one of the best shooter movies ever made, sometimes it’s fun to watch a misfire rather than some perfectly sleek shooting.
