1. The Pursuit of Happyness
This movie is nothing short of life-altering. If you’re on the precipice of a career change, you need to see this film. You’ll see it’s never too late to make a difference.
It’s also incredible for giving you perspective. Life can be tough, but it’s how you deal with these challenges that get through turbulent times. With hard work and perseverance, things can and will get better.
However, despite everything coming good in the end, I always suggest giving yourself a safety net. Check out Safeco insurance reviews for more info on that.
2. The Help
The Help’s iconic quote;
“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”
still provides a much-needed pick me up when you doubt your capabilities.
Although our homes aren’t typical of the modern workplace, it highlights the trials black women faced as nannies back in the 60’s and how they overcame them.
The cast is superb. Emma Stone and Octavia Spencer are nothing short of sensational in this movie.
3. The Devil Wears Prada
Yes, this movie is a bit of a cliche.
The woman gets her dream job in the fashion industry, and her boss is crazy and makes her life a living hell. She then has a revelation and overcomes these issues.
Seems simple enough.
However, there are a few valuable lessons we can learn from this flick.
Many of us see certain jobs as the pinnacle of success. However, if these careers take over our lives in a way that’s completely unhealthy, we need to have the courage to see no.
Trust your gut; you won’t regret it.
4. Office Space
This movie’s a helpful reminder that good co-workers are the lifeblood of a happy job. If amazing people surround you, even the worst of scenarios are bearable.
You’ll be inspired by how these colleagues pull together, and their fabulous connection with one another will make you want to improve your relationship with your coworkers.
5. Horrible Bosses
If you need a lighthearted laugh, this is the movie to watch.
There aren’t many valuable lessons from this film, other than if you’re an employer, don’t be a pain in the butt!
Though it goes without saying, I don’t condone murder as a way of managing your unhealthy manager-employee relationships!
